So many ideas, so little time! The story of my sewing life.
I love making my clothes. Eventually, I would like to make everything, although perhaps not jeans. Having said that there is so much help out there on-line or in a sewing workshop to create the perfect fit, I may just give it a go someday….
A garment I made recently was using a combination of two amazing Liberty lawn fabrics from their relatively new Silk Road collection; I found it quite incredible that the first lot of fabric I bought for loving the fabric was this range which I fell in love with, as my former fabric shop was called The Silk Road!
I used Butterick pattern 5955, which is simple and quick to make. Next time I use it though I will cut a facing for the V neck as the finish would have been more crisp. I will put up a photo asap but here is the fabric again and the pattern information…
As the Butterick top is quite summery I thought I would make one more suitable for the autumn. I used some Liberty lawn from my stash with a print that is a bit medieval/Lady and the Unicorn. I found Vogue pattern 9039 which was printed in 2001 and seemed to be perfect, a loose-fitting blouse with a standing back collar. I finished it with little difficulty and like it a lot though it is a touch generous….Still it is another nice addition to my Liberty top collection!
