loving the fabric is excited to again be partnering with Lisa Wagner Designs to offer a one day (4 hour) workshop to make a modern take on the traditional silk kimono. The LWD kimono design can be made short and worn over jeans for an evening out, or made in a longer line to wear over a silk negligee or silk pyjamas.
Lisa has been designing classically elegant clothing that is simple in design, elegant in fit and luxurious in quality for over 20 years. In addition to her clothing line, Lisa has been instructing workshops for women who want to make their own beautiful clothing. Lisa’s experience and her clothing designs are a perfect match with our mission to help you sew beautiful things.
This sewing course is aimed at anyone who already has some experience with sewing machines and who is ready to tackle a more challenging project with delicate silk fabrics. The course will follow the cutting and construction of a simple and elegant kimono in silk, in your choice of two lengths, and will focus on cutting and construction techniques for difficult fabrics, including seams, hems finishes, and hand-finishing for a couture look.
Students should be prepared with their fabric and thread selections and will be given a 15% discount on the purchase of these supplies from the shop. The details for these will be provided prior to the course. Sewing machines and other equipment will be provided, however it might be helpful to bring a small sewing kit with pins and scissors.
The cost for the course is £100. For more information or to reserve your spot, please call Gay ((0)20 8332 6031 ) or stop in the shop.
